For those who have not experienced a “Round Table Discussion”, the format is an open discussion of a wedding planner topic led by a facilitator.  Facilitator for this topic will be AACWP’s President, Marsha Ballard French.

What's the discussion?

Recently, many of us have experienced an increase in the requirements of offsite venues for our planning team.  Some venues are requiring that the planner be there as soon as the bride arrives, even if the bride has decided to arrive at 7am for hair and makeup, some venues expect the planner to take out the garbage, some expect the planner to stay and check-out all the vendors, and the list seems to be growing.   The fact is, as a planner our contract is with the wedding couple, not the venue.  It’s time that we have a discussion about all these various requirements and perhaps take a stand on what is realistic and what can be diagnosed as “planner abuse.”
